After breakfast you will leave for Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka. Here you will see the remains of the Brazen Palace (which was once nine storeys high) and the Sri Maha Bodhi – a Bo Tree over 2,000 years old, grown from the branch of the very tree beneath which the Buddha attained enlightenment. You will also visit the ruins of the Ruwanweliseya Dagaba, see the 2nd Century BC shrine containing the Buddha’s collarbone relic, the Abhayagiriya Temple and the Jetawanaramaya Dagobas. After breakfast at a hotel, you will climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you will find the remains of the Palace and its environs. En route to Kandy, you will stop by the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and the Spice Garden in Matale. You will check in at the hotel upon arrival at Kandy. You will go on a sightseeing tour after breakfast to explore Kandy and the Upper Lake Drive.

You will visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala and the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. At the end of the day, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Kandy

Enjoy breakfast before leaving for Nuwara Eliya. En route, you will visit a tea factory and tea plantation where you can catch a glimpse of women plucking the tea leaves or ‘Green Gold’. This morning, you will depart for Yala after breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit the Galle Dutch Fort before your return to Colombo.
